Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is to provide the highest quality instruction, research, and service in support of the mission of the University of Louisville. Regarding instruction, the intent is to educate students in a professional engineering school context and prepare students for a productive life-long career in the engineering profession. Second, the intent is to conduct research relevant to the environment and infrastructure. Last, the intent of service is to be useful to the University, the community, the Commonwealth, and the profession. Overall, our intent is to provide an educational experience that prepares graduates for the challenges they will face during their professional careers.

Environmental Engineering Certificate

The Environmental Engineering Certificate may be awarded with any Speed School graduate degree (MEng, MS, PhD) pending completion of qualifying courses. The certificate requires 12 credit hours in environmental-related courses, and the courses may be counted for both the MEng degree and certificate program. The Environmental Certificate serves as an means of highlighting and verifying successful completion of academic work in the environmental field of study. PE Review Spring 2008

Faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Louisville, in conjunction with the Kentucky Engineering Center, is offering a PE review course for six Sats., from 2-16-2008 through 3-16-2008. This course has been continuously offered each fall and spring since 1996. List of companies who have utilized this course in training their employees is available upon request.
